Our Team
Building a home is a team effort, and have we got the team for you!
At Hicks Construction we have assembled a team of sub-contractors that are second to none. We have a long standing relationship with these experienced craftsmen. Over many years and many projects we have built trust and a strong rapport with one another. We all take pride in our work and pay close attention to detail and most importantly your desires.
We feel by having a team of professional at the start. You can avoid some common pitfalls in which people often find themselves when they decide to build a custom home. Before choosing a lot or a particular plan or style for your home. We recommend having our team of individuals, that you will work with, meet with you. We know you will see that they are willing to respond courteously and promptly to your request.
Our relationship with you, our client, doesn’t end with the completion of your home. We work with you during the final stage to make sure that all aspects of your home function as they should and to see that your expectations are met.
Builder
The selection of the right builder should be based on a host of their qualifications and characteristics. For the first four of the eight to ten months of construction. It will be imperative to communicate well with your builder. You have to have a close relationship with them. Selecting a builder should NOT be solely on price. I believe there are three qualities that you should look for; Honesty. Experience and Confidence.
When you build your dream home, it’s important that it is an exciting, pleasurable, and rewarding experience with someone you not only trust but, someone with whom you are compatible. Their willingness and desire to work with you and carefully explain each step of the process, will go a long way to avoid problems down the road.
Talk to others in the industry. Your builder/contractor’s reputation, for honesty and integrity in the building community, go hand in hand with their ability to produce top quality work, with a minimum of expense and waste of materials. Take time to interview past clients and find out about their experiences with the contractor, before, during and after working with them.
Naturally, you will want to visit some of the homes they have built, get opinions from other construction professionals. As well as professional organizations to gain more insight as to the relationships they have.
There will always be a lot of decisions to be made during the construction process. In my 45 years in this business. I have gained the experience needed and the skill to help guide my clients make some of the necessary tough decisions on the front end. This helps to avoid problems during the building of their home.
I am available to my clients every step along the way with recommendations, new directions and past experiences. I encourage them to ask a lot of questions when we go through the meeting process.
Two questions to ask when interviewing builders/contractors:
What contract options are available?
How will the different contract options impact the final cost of the project?
Hicks Construction Company was built on these values from the very beginning. I am proud to have continued to hold these values to this day. I look forward to visiting with you in person to talk about building your dream home.
